Trip Description
This trip is one of our exclusive tour package offered by no other travel operators. Our intention is to present an ideal village lifestyle to our guests and it couldn’t have been any other my own village in Trongsa. Some 25km before reaching Trongsa, this village is considered one of the most beautiful villages of Trongsa district. It is particularly known for its unique festival that happens in winter and it is believed that some of the best singers hail from this village as it is blessed by a holy spring water which is believed to make your voice beautiful when you drink it. The festival happens in the small ground outside of the village temple that lasts 3 days. It’s the time of the year for family reunions and festivity as relatives who are living in urban areas come and visit their kin back in the village. Unlike other national festivals that see many tourists, this festival is particularly engaging and more personal as locals are overjoyed to receive the few international tourists who come to their village, and our guests are often treated in a very special way. Masked and dressed in elaborate silk brocade costumes, dancers depict the triumph of good over evil and the power of compassion to the haunting sounds of trumpets, cymbals and flutes that fill the air. In a nutshell, this trip is designed to showcase the quintessential Bhutanese rural lifestyle. From Tangsibje, the trip rewinds back towards western valleys combining it with other cultural attractions that include a hike up to the famous Tiger’s nest. Recommended trip length is around 10 nights.
