Trip Description

Bhutan is a fantastic fishing destination as it is not a popular sport in Bhutan. Rivers practically remain untouched by anglers and a good population of fresh water fish like the brown trout, rainbow trout and the Himalayan trout (Carp family) is found in most of the rivers. The sought after Golden Mahaseer is a must if you are visiting the Manas Park as the river is a great spot for this game fish. Because of this very reason, a combination of both fly and lure fishing will be used, as the rivers are not always spacious for fly-fishing. With the Angler’s Day Out, we intend to present both amateur and experienced anglers with this wonderful opportunity to fish in either Thimphu river or Punakha river. We will spend a full day out by the river with beautiful scenery the backdrop of gorgeous Himalayan mountains, crystal rivers and paddy fields.
